Andrew Berends

This contemporary art ceramic vessel is part of Andrew Berends' stunning new Vibrance Horse-hair Collection. Berends' studio art pottery is a combination of Raku and contemporary design. The Horse-hair Collection is crafted by layering horse hair and feathers on the piece during the raku firing process. The results are an intricate design embossed into the cream toned terra sigillata which has a soft matte finish. Each piece is a one of a kind due to the type of process that is involved. Vessels are porous and cannot be filled with water.
